For the Chicken Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth

- 1/4 teaspoon dried sage
- Salt and contemporary black pepper to taste
For the Bacon and Onions:
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 giant onion, chopped

1/2 cup chicken bouillon powder
1/2 cup chopped bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup chilly water

– four slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– half onion, diced
– three cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 4 cups chicken broth
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Chopped recent parsley, for garnish (optional)

One large fresh onion, preferably sweet
Instructions
Cooking the chicken
1. In a large skillet, cook dinner the bacon over medium warmth until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and put aside.
2. Add the chicken to the pan and cook over medium warmth till browned on all sides. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
3. Add the onions to the pan and cook over medium warmth till softened. Add the flour to the pan and cook dinner for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
4. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk. Bring to a boil, then scale back warmth and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.
5. Stir in the cooked chicken and bacon. Season with salt and pepper to style.
6. Serve the gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
Making the gravy
Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
– 1/4 cup finely diced yellow onion
– 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– half cup dry pink or white wine (optional)
– 2 cups chicken broth
– half cup heavy cream
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1/4 cup chopped recent parsley
– Kosher salt, to taste
– Freshly floor black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add the onion and cook till softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Sprinkle within the flour and cook for 1 minute.
4. Gradually whisk in the wine (if using), then the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and prepare dinner until thickened, about 5 minutes.
5. Stir within the cream, mustard, parsley, salt, and pepper.
6. Serve immediately.
Adding the bacon and onions
Instructions:
Over medium-low warmth, render the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Using a slotted spoon, switch the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to empty.
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and prepare dinner till softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute extra.
Serving the gravy
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, prepare dinner bacon over medium warmth until crisp.
- Remove bacon from skillet and set aside.
- Add chicken broth and water to skillet, stirring to scrape up any browned bits.
